I’ve met many Lola’s. These people criticize others because they don’t live up to the expectations they have created for themselves. They hold themselves to such high standards to be “worthy”, normally by someone else’s definition, and in turn hold others to the same standard.

As far as working yourself to exhaustion for corporate. I currently work in a corporate position and I hate it. I had a coworker who was always very positive, one of the hardest working people here, and he was very unexpectedly let go. This was only a few weeks after I was explaining that it’s really a joke on movie and tv shows that people work to death at a corporation only to be dismissed when they are no longer useful.

I said many years ago I would never work in a corporation again. Due to life circumstances I didn’t have many options. 🫤 Hopefully one day I’ll write my book and follow my dream job. It’s a work in progress.

Keep working toward your dreams!!! Just keep writing whenever you can 🩷

The corporate life: brutal, I can only imagine. What amazes me: boomers who boast they’ve worked at the same company for 30 years. They’re so proud of their loyalty to an entity that doesn’t give a shit about to them!!!

Yes, I have older relatives that have worked the same job for a long time and think everything still works the same way.

“You need a union”. While this generation tries to explain that unions just aren’t a thing anymore.

Pensions are almost non-existent.

And even health insurance is a freaking joke. Most companies are switching to high deductible plans only with HSA accounts. Which means I have to pay $2,000 out of pocket deductible before my insurance covers anything. Any expenses come from a savings account I have to put money into. And the only option is the bank the company chooses. Ive had several issues with the bank holding my funds, and I don’t even have the option to switch banks. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Dental isn’t really covered either, and also comes out of the savings account.

I remember my grandma, who has good intentions, told me I need to go on vacation more and relax. Believe me, if I could I absolutely would. But two people working full time can barely make it, and no hope of buying a house. She was stay at home most of her life and still lived comfortably. She just doesn’t know how things work.
