not precisely all female artists, but i've really been into expanding my music tastes recently and it's also really helped me find myself! here are my current favorites.

the linda lindas: around my age, chinese/latinx girls that do punk/rock music! this was a big step out of my comfort zone of jazz and such, but i've grown to really love the authenticity and rawness that exists in their music. it's the type of songs that makes you smile the second you hear it beginning. i think seeing girls my age do this type of thing and express such vulnerability through music and on stage has been such a wonderful thing to witness.

the vaccines: i grew up more with this band, and i actually saw them in concert recently too! i think mixed with nostalgia plus some genuinely excellent music makes this one really hold up to me in my teenage years.

the beths: kind of an indie rock band from new zealand, and their lyricism is so hard-hitting. and they have the most beautiful harmonies.

belle and sebastian: another one i really grew up with, with surprise, another excellent lyricism award from me. they are truly poetry.

here are my ultimate song recommendations:

- growing up || the linda lindas

- no obligation || the linda lindas

- if you wanna || the vaccines

- wetsuit || the vaccines

- lunar eclipse || the vaccines

- expert in a dying field || the beths

- future me hates me || the beths

- knees deep || the beths

- judy and the dream of horses || belle and sebastian

- piazza, new york catcher || belle and sebastian

- san francisco || foxygen

- fire & fury || the overcoats

sorry this is super long! i love music recommendations so much

Curious, have you listened to Caroline Polachek or Gracie Abrams at all?

Give Drab Majesty a listen if you like melodic, brooding goth music.
